Description: Introduces the major themes in African American education. Focuses on litigation in public education, politics, policies in circumventing desegregation, and churches and community organizations advancing desegregated education. Also explores poverty and urban schools, social programs, the Afrocentric pedagogy of failure, separate schools for blacks, resegregation, and the achievement promise.
