Description: Focuses on the intersections between gender, sexuality, and religion in Islamicate societies. Discusses the ways in which those formations have been shaped by histories of slavery, imperialism, colonialism, human rights discourses, neoliberalism, contemporary practices of Islamophobia, nationalism, and global LGBTQ activism.
