Description: Examines psychological constructs in health behavior change. Covers theories and research on preventive health behavior; adherence to treatment; health lifestyles; substance use and abuse; and anxiety and depression in medical illness. Also examines cognitive and behavioral techniques; helping skills; placebo effect; social support; therapeutic communication; medical care; and ethical issues.
