Description: Addresses techniques of commercial music production, including recording, editing, sequencing, notation preparation, and sound reinforcement. Combines an examination of the history of commercial sound aesthetics with structured exercises in producing, including software benchmarking, project management, budgeting, audio devices, mastering, and design for sound reinforcement and miking. May be taken Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) by students advanced to candidacy for the Ph.D.
