Prerequisites: graduate standing in Chemistry or consent of instructor

Description: Introduces key areas of bioanalytical chemistry and chemical biology. Explores current literature with an emphasis on protein engineering, fluorescence imaging, and synthesis of light-active compounds and their applications to the modulation of biological pathways. Students who present a seminar receive a letter grade; other students receive a Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) grade. Course is repeatable to a maximum of 36 units.
