Description: An introduction to the many varied native cultures of the Greater Southwest. Major differences as well as similarities in the forms of language, social organization, religion, and material culture occurring in the Greater Southwest will be defined and described. The peoples of the Greater Southwest are considered, not only in terms of the ethnographic present, but also through a diachronic perspective, from the prehistoric past through the Spanish colonial era to the present.
