Description: A survey of European history from the aftermath of the Black Death until the French Revolution. Introduces the geographic, demographic, and economic conditions underlying early modern European society, and examines cultural, political, and intellectual forms as they changed. Special attention is given to the historical experience of individuals, including commoners and elites.
