Description: Introduction to the theories and observations of earthquake seismology. Student utilizes physical principles and mathematical techniques to study the earthquake process, wave propagation, and ground motion. Laboratory emphasizes computer-assisted analysis of various types of seismic data as well as simple modeling techniques.
