Prerequisites: senior or graduate standing in Chemistry or consent of instructor

Description: Training in modern main group chemistry, covering boron, silicon, phosphorous, and related elements. Organic and inorganic chemists benefit from this course. Introduces students to the peculiar properties of these elements, thus enabling them to use this knowledge in their own field of expertise. Students who present a seminar or submit a term paper receive a letter grade; other students receive a Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) grade. Course is repeatable.
