Description: Introduces applied geophysical methods used to explore and characterize the shallow subsurface. Topics include gravity, magnetism, seismic reflection and refraction, electrical resistivity, electromagnetism, and ground penetrating radar. Explores techniques to solve problems related to groundwater, as well as environmental, mineral, and petroleum exploration and engineering issues. Requires a weekend field trip.
