Description: A study of factors influenc≠ing genomic variation in biological populations. Topics include the effects of natural selection and genetic drift on genetic variation, detecting adaptive change from genomic data, why genetic diseases and cancers persist, the evolution of co-operation, adaptation to pathogens and to a changing environment, and the genetic challenges faced by small conserved populations.
