Description: An introduction to the metropolis Berlin as a gateway between the East and West. Explores topography of the city through film, art, music, and literary texts. Considers Berlin’s dramatic transformations as a microcosm of Germany and Europe’s troubled history in the twentieth century. Course conducted in English.
