Description: Introduces the Maya hieroglyphs and critically evaluates its political history. Topics include three Maya calendars, a basic grammar (logographs, syllables, verbs, pronouns), three writing methods (transcriptions, transliteration, and translation), dynastic events, gods, supernaturals, and political interactions.
