Description: A study of key works in Buddhist studies in an effort to flesh out a critical history of academic portrayals of Buddhism. Explores the history and boundaries of the field and its relationship to modes of Buddhist and non-Buddhist rhetoric and interpretation in colonial, Orientalist, socialist, and neo-liberal contexts.
