Prerequisites: PHYS 209A, PHYS 209B; or consent of instructor
Description: Advanced topics in quantum optics and nonlinear optics. Topics include high resolution spectroscopy, atom trapping and manipulation, transient and time- resolved spectroscopy, coherent spectroscopy, GHz to X-ray sources and spectroscopy and coherent control in atoms, molecules, liquids, solids, surfaces and interfaces. May be taken Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) with consent of instructor and graduate advisor. Course is repeatable as topics change to a maximum of 12 units.
