Prerequisites: admission to the University Honors Program or consent of instructor

Description: Introduces social scientific thinking about nonverbal communication, with an emphasis on research methods for studying face-to- face interaction. Students learn how to frame questions about social issues and to collect data to answer these questions. Focus is on the ways quantifiable expressive elements of personal charisma communicate status and solidarity in social interaction.
