Prerequisites: admission to the University Honors Program or consent of instructor

Description: An exploration of the role of place in science. Introduces the natural history and human history of the Grand Canyon and the Colorado Plateau, with particular focus on geological, archaeological, and biological investigations of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Students participate in a field trip to the canyon and vicinity.
