Prerequisites: upper-division standing or lower-division English course (other than composition) or consent of instructor

Description: Examines some of the theoretical presuppositions that inform the cultural study of Victorian England. Covers a number of important primary and secondary works pertinent to Victorian studies and several of the main issues involved in current researches of the Victorian period, encourages students to engage critically a variety of theoretical approaches to cultural studies of the period.
