Prerequisites: CS 164 or equivalent
Description: Introduces measuring and building real network systems. Includes hands- on measurement studies and tools. Covers fundamental mathematical and statistical tools; exposure to implementation studies and techniques; principles of network architectures; and challenges in building testbeds and conducting measurements. Explores measurements and modeling of wireline, ad hoc, sensor, and cellular networks. May be taken Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) with consent of instructor and graduate advisor. Course is repeatable as content changes to a maximum of 8 units.
