Prerequisites: graduate standing in Chemistry or consent of instructor
Description: Explores bioanalytical separation and detection techniques. Topics include liquid chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, field flow fractionation, flow cytometry, multidimensional or multiplexed chromatography, microfluidics, mass spectrometry, biological sample preparation, and biosensors. Emphasis is on development of new bioanalytical techniques for detection of pathogens and study of pathogen-host interactions. Students who present a seminar receive a letter grade; other students receive a Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) grade. Course is repeatable.
