An extensive review of the techniques used by archaeologists to study ceramic artifacts, one of the most common archaeological remains found at many Holocene sites throughout the world. Critically explores the use of typology, attribute analysis, experimental archaeology, petrography, source analysis, residue analysis, and ceramic ethnoarchaeology.
