Prerequisites: consent of department chair

Description: Individual study to meet special curricular needs. May not be used to satisfy major requirements unless taken as a replacement for a course not being offered during the student’s remaining tenure. Students who take the course as a substitute for PHYS 142L receive a letter grade; other students may petition for a Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) grade. Course is repeatable to a maximum of 9 units; a maximum of 5 units may be used to substitute for PHYS 142L.
