Description: Explores the medical history of Native Americans. Focuses on traditional Native American medicine and how Western diseases, medical practices, health care, and policies influenced American Indian health. Topics include medicine people, rituals, ceremonies, smallpox, measles, influenza, anomie, accidents, diabetes, suicides, mental illness, and murders. Cross-listed with HISA 147. Fulfills the Humanities requirement for the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
