Description: The Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s and 1960s. The main focus will be on the “grass roots.” African American aspects of “The Movement,” as it was popularly known, from school desegregation to voting rights and beyond. Cross-listed with HISA 135. Fulfills the Humanities requirement for the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
