Description: A program of study designed to advise and assist candidates who are preparing for examination. Graded Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC). Repeatable as follows: (1) a student may take up to 12 units prior to the award of the M.A. (these 12 units do not count toward the required M.A. units); (2) a student may take up to 18 additional units after award of the M.A. but prior to successful completion of the Ph.D. qualifying examination.
