Description: Prereq- uisite(s): PSYC 001, PSYC 002, PSYC 011, and PSYC 012 with grades of “C-” or better; or equivalents; or consent of instructor. Examines the social, emotional, and intellectual aspects of human development from a cultural perspective. Covers theory, research, and methods of studying the cultural bases of psycho- logical growth. Topics include socialization practices, parenting, social relations, language and cognition, schooling and academic achievement, acculturation, and ethnicity.
