Description: Introduction to graduate studies in materials science and engineering. Provides overview of the areas of the specialization of the academic program as well as research opportunities and facilities at UCR. Covers fundamental methods of the discipline. Summarizes areas of employment of graduates in Materials Science and Engineering. Nor- mally graded Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC), but students may petition the instructor for a letter grade on the basis of assigned extra work or examination.
