Description: A survey of European history from the aftermath of the Black Death until the French Revolution. Introduces the geographic, demographic, and economic condi- tions underlying early modern European society, and examines cultural, political, and intellectual forms as they changed. Special attention is given to the histor- ical experience of individuals, including commoners and elites.
