Description: Explores relations between Africa and the Western world. Examines systems of colonialism and globalization, women’s issues, gender identity, and representation in postcolonial Africa. Highlights the impact of these issues on African so- ciety and the struggle against systematic practices of oppression that persist at the axis of race, gender, and sexuality. Fulfills the Humanities requirement for the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
