Description: Provides a current ex- amination of the status of Chicana(o)/Latina(o) politics from both a grass roots and coercive state perspec- tive. Examines divergent theoretical approaches within the contexts of liberal capitalism, pluralist versus elite theory, and identity politics. May be taken Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) with consent of instructor and graduate advisor. Course is repeatable as content changes to a maximum of 12 units.
