Description: Charts a critical interdisciplinary genealogy of imperialism, colonialism, and racism within the global context of capitalist modernity. Explores the characteristics of imperialism, colonialism, and racism, as well as their relation to each other and to nationalism, decoloniza- tion, and globalization. Addresses how these complex articulations have been theorized. May be taken Satis- factory (S) or No Credit (NC) with consent of instructor and graduate advisor. Course is repeatable as content changes to a maximum of 12 units.
