Prerequisites: graduate standing or consent of instructor

Description: Examines theory of intersectionality in transnational framework and his- torical perspective. Addresses problematics of social identity construction and the body. Considers analyses in relation to people of color and issues of race, sex, economic oppression, homophobia, transgender possibilities, ageism, militarization, nationalism, and globalization. Focuses on collective strategies of resistance and revolution. May be taken Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) with consent of instructor and graduate advisor. Course is repeatable as content changes to a maximum of 12 units.
