Prerequisites: graduate standing or consent of instructor

Description: Focuses on Asian American literary and cultural production within a framework of Asian American, diasporic, and transpacific theory. Exam- ines how Asian American literature engages dominant models of gender, race, class, sexuality, and nation in conjunction with the specific histories of the several ethnic groups that comprise Asian America and the Asian diaspora. Course is repeatable to a maximum of 16 units.
