Prerequisites: graduate standing or consent of instructor

Description: Explores the nanocrystal-ligand interface. Topics include a quantitative understanding of the nanocrystal-ligand interface, single molecule spectroscopic methods; the self-assembly of nanoparticles; supramolocular chem- istry; synthesis and characterization of organic-inor- ganic hybrid nanostructures; and nanostructures with novel catalytic and optoelectronic properties. Students who present a seminar receive a letter grade; other students receive a Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) grade. Course is repeatable to a maximum of 36 units.
