Description: Exam- ines politics of militarization in relation to gender, race, and sexuality in national and international contexts of war. Explores ideologies and representations of masculinity and femininity in discourses of militarism. Topics include war crimes; contestations over histor- ical memory; effects of militarization on gender roles; cults of heroism; and peace activism.
