Description: Covers ethnographic, anthropological, and other cultural approaches 427 / Programs and Courses 427 / Programs and Courses to the study of religion. Traces emergence of the cultural study of religion from colonial encounters to current-day ethnographies of religion. Evaluates risks and promises of ethnography for the study of religion. Includes ethnographic project.
