Description: A survey of cinema outside of the economic, institutional, and aesthetic imperatives of mainstream film production. Covers an array of alternative film movements including surrealism and dada, Soviet avant-garde, the Cine 16 Group, French new wave, North American avant-garde, and the artist’s film. Cross-listed with AHS 137. Fulfills the Humanities requirement for the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
