Prerequisites: upper-division standing or consent of instructor
Description: Investigates the intersection of sustainable practices, development pressures, and gender in the Global South. Explores nonwestern concepts of sex/ gender and nature as epistemological resources in addressing the impact of climate change on livelihoods and social organization. Asks how sustainability theory and practice can be transnational and socially inclusive. Fulfills either the Humanities or Social Sciences requirement for the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, but not both.
