Description: Surveys the lives and work of women artists in Renaissance Europe. Considers circumstances under which it was possible for women to become artists; how they evolved from practicing in the cloistered convent to participating in the competitive public market place; what they painted; and who their patrons were. Cross-listed with AHS 165 and HISE 133. Fulfills the Humanities requirement for the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
