Prerequisites: graduate standing in Materials Science and Engineering or consent of instructor
Description: Introduction to graduate studies in Materials Science and Engineering. Covers the fundamental methods of the discipline. Provides an overview of the areas of specialization, as well as research opportunities and facilities. Summarizes employment opportunities for graduates from the Materials Science and Engineering program. Normally graded Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC), but students may petition the instructor for a letter grade on the basis of assigned extra work or examination. Course is repeatable as content changes to a maximum of 4 units.
