Description: Analyzes English literature of the Middle Ages, focusing (where pertinent) on its continental backgrounds (the latter read in translation). Examines selected major literary works that illuminate topics such as Christian theology, monasticism, chivalry, and courtly love. Course is repeatable to a maximum of 8 units.
