Description: An examination of the organization, function, and behavior of eukaryotic cells. Topics include membrane systems, protein targeting, the cytoskeleton, motility, and cell division. Emphasis is on the experiments that form the basis of the current understanding of the cell. Students read original journal articles, an analysis of which is the focus of the discussion section.
