Prerequisites: upper- division standing or consent of instructor

Description: Examines media representations of women and violence. Topics include feminist and queer theory, pornography, sexual violence, state violence, censorship, militarization, policing, and intersections with race, ethnicity, class, sexualities, and citizenship. Analyzes cinema, television, video, gaming, digital, print, and other visual and acoustic media. Course repeatable as topics change to a maximum of 12 units. Fulfills the Humanities requirement for the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences.
