Description: A survey of the dispersal, transplantation, and transformation of Asian populations in selected regions of the world--the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific--as viewed from the historical and contemporary experiences of the Chinese, Japanese, Filipinos, Koreans, Vietnamese, and other Asian groups in the contexts of colonization, cultural and political domination, and an emerging global economy. Fulfills either the Humanities or Social Sciences requirement for the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, but not both.
