Description: Covers principles of file systems; architecture of database management systems; data models; and relational databases. Also examines logical and physical design of databases; hardware and software implementation of database systems; and distributed databases (e.g., query processing, concurrences, recovery). May be taken Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) by students advanced to candidacy for the Ph.D.
