Description: Examines how cancer has been perceived and described by biomedical and public health practitioners, anthropologists, and social scientists. Interdisciplinary approach focuses on the historical, political, and cultural dimensions that inform our understanding of cancer in particular and disease in general. Includes illness narratives, risk, epidemiology, and unequal disease distribution and treatment.
