Description: Examines the field of sexuality studies using a comparative, cross-cultural approach. Emphasizes the relation between culture, history, and political economy in the emergence of sexual practices and sexualized identities. Examines theories of sexuality and identity, with particular attention to violence, human rights, and political agency.
