Description: Focuses on former Indochinese refugees who are producing literature and films in the United States and France. Examines how the perception of Indochina has been constructed, particularly how the region has been gendered female in the colonial imaginary. Explores the return of Southeast Asian immigrants to the Western gaze. Cross-listed with MCS 142 and SEAS 172. Fulfills either the Humanities or Social Sciences requirement for the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, but not both.
