Description: Considers the writings and collective organizational strategies of African American women intellectuals and activists developed in response to the ways racial, sexual, and economic oppression work interdependently and are institutionalized. Beginning with early women’s slave narratives, follows black women’s agendas for social change to the present. Cross-listed with HISA 134. Fulfills either the Humanities or Social Sciences requirement for the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, but not both.
