Description: Examines the late nineteenth-century origins and twentieth-century evolution of the meaning of heterosexuality in the United States. Includes the medical, psychological, and political history of hetero- sexuality; the race and gender components of hetero- sexuality; and the intersections of heterosexuality and queerness. Satisfactory (S) or No Credit (NC) grading is not available. Cross-listed with LGBS 128. Fulfills either the Humanities or Social Sciences requirement for the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, but not both.
